1/2 c. dates, slices
1/2 c. raisins
1/3 c. butter
3/4 c. brown sugar
2 T. molasses
3/4 c. hot water
1 egg
8 oz. fruits & peel
1/2 c. nuts, chopped
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 t. cinnamon
1/4 t. nutmeg
1/2 t. soda
1/4 t. baking powder
1/2 t. salt

Directions:
Directions:
In saucepan, combine dates, raisins, butter, brown sugar, molasses and hot water. Boil for 3 minutes. Cool in large bowl. Beat in egg, fruits & peels and nuts. Sift together flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, soda, baking powder and salt. Gradually add to fruit mixture. Pour into 10x5x3 loaf pan, lined with greased wax paper. Bake at 275* for 2 1/4 hours. Remove from pans and cool thoroughly. Wrap. Will keep well for 6 weeks.
