3 T. shortening
2 squares (1 oz. each) chocolate
1 c. sugar
2 t. baking powder
pinch of salt
1 c. flour
1/2 c. milk
2 eggs
1 t. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Combine shortening, chocolate and sugar together in a bowl over hot water until all are melted. Sift baking powder, salt and flour. When the first ingredients are melted add the rest of the ingredients with-out stirring. With a beater, beat hard for 5 minutes. Turn into a greased loaf pan. Bake at 350* until done. This is a very fine grain cake and keeps moist for 4 - 5 days.
