2 egg yolks
1/3 c. molasses
2/3 c. sugar
3/4 c. buttermilk (or sour milk)
1 1/4 c. flour
1 t. soda
1/2 t. cinnamon
1/2 t. allspice
1/2 t. cloves
1/2 t. nutmeg

Filling:
2 egg whites
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. water
1 c. raisins

Directions:
Directions:
Combine all ingredients; mix well. Turn into 2 round tins. Bake at 350* until done. Do not use any shortening in this cake. Cool and put filling between layers.
Filling:
Beat egg whites stiff. Boil sugar with the water until it hairs and beat well into the whites of eggs. Add raisins.
