Ingredients: SAUCE one medium chopped onion 2 minced garlic (or 1 tsp powdered) oil or olive oil about 1/4 cup 1- 6 oz can tomato paste I large can chopped tomatoes (about 3 1/2 cups) 4 c. hot water 3 tsp salt 1 tsp powdered sage 1 tsp dried oregano leaves
Meatballs
1 pound lean hamburger 1 egg, beaten 1/2 tsp minced garlic 1 tbsp. minced parsley 1 tsp salt 1 c. soft bread crumbs (about 1 1/2 slices) 1/2 c. grated parmesan cheese

Directions:Sauce Saute onion in oil for a few minutes. Add all other sauce ingredients and simmer for about 45 minutes while making meatballs
Meatballs Mix all ingredients together, shape into balls. Brown balls quickly in skillet. After sauce has simmered 45 minutes, add meatballs and cook at a simmer for 45 more minutes |

Notes: Mom loved to make this for us whenever we came home. It was my son Steve's favorite. I think she got the recipe from some of dad's family up north but I'm not sure.
