1/4 c. butter
1/4 c. flour
1 - 1 1/2 c. chicken stock
1 c. carrots, cut
1 c. celery, sliced thin
1 c. cream
salt & pepper (to taste)
2 c. chicken, cooked & cut up
1 c. ham, cut up
pie pastry (2 crust)
1 egg
1 T. water

Directions:
Directions:
Melt butter; stir in flour. Add chicken stock, carrots and celery. Cook 5 minutes. When it starts to thicken; add cream, salt and pepper. Add chicken and ham. Line a pie plate with pastry. Combine egg and water together. Brush bottom of pastry with egg mixture. Put in filling. Add top crust - cut holes for steam to escape, or make crust leaves for top. Paint with egg mixture. Bake at 425* for 40 - 45 minutes on lowest rack. Will keep at 275* for hours. This can also be made the day ahead and kept in refrigerator.
