Batter:
1 regular yellow cake mix (preferably without pudding already in the mix) **
1 small vanilla instant pudding mix **
4 eggs
1 c. vegetable oil
1 c. water

Topping:
1 c. brown sugar
1 T. cinnamon
may add nuts if desired

** If the only available yellow cake mix already has pudding in the mix, only add 1/2 or less of the additional pudding mix the recipe call for.

Mix all the batter ingredients together - mix well. In a separate bowl, mix the topping ingredients together.

Pour half of the batter into a greased 9" x 13" pan. Sprinkle 1/3 of the topping mix on top of the batter. Carefully spread the remaining batter over the layer of cinnamon & sugar. Sprinkle the rest of the topping mix over the batter.

Bake at 325º for about 60 minutes - test for doneness.

This recipe is one of Jarin's favorites. Originally came from my Great Aunt Betty Jo.

* If you don't put enough batter down as the base layer or you sprinkle too much sugar mixture on that base layer, the sugar will sink to the bottom of the pan during baking and cause a sticky, hard to get out of the pan, mess.
