2 cups 500 mL Flour
1.25 tsp 6.25 mL Baking Soda
1 tsp 5 mL Salt
1.75 c 425 mL Sugar
1/2 tsp 2.5 mL Baking Powder
3/4 cup 180 mL Cocoa

3/4 cup 180 mL Shortening
1 cup 250 mL Milk
1.5 tsp 7.5 mL Vanilla

1/4 c 60 mL Milk
3 Eggs

1. Preheat oven to 350* F. Grease 3 - 9 inch/23 cm pans OR 9 X 13 inch pan
2. Sift dry ingredients together into large bowl.
3. Add Shortening, Milk and Vanilla and beat for 2 minutes at medium speed
4. Scrape bowl.
5. Add 1/4 cup 60 mL Milk and eggs and beat another 2 minutes
6. Divide among pans and bake 35 min for layers, 50 minutes for 9X13.
7. Cool on wire rack.
