1/2 c shortening
1 c sugar
2 eggs
2 c flour
1/2 tsp salt
1 TBSP vanilla
1/2 c cherry juice
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 c chopped walnuts
1 (8 oz) jar maraschino cherries
Directions:
Directions:
1. Cream shortening in sugar. Add eggs and beat vigorously.
2. Add alternately juice and dry ingredients
3. Add vanilla. Fold in chopped maraschino cherries and nuts
4. Bake in greased and floured medium loaf pan at 350º for 50 minutes.
