2 c. sugar
2 c. water
2 c. vinegar(cider vinegar)
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. allspice
1 tbsp. cinnamon

Cooked beets from the garden.

Directions:
Packed cooked beets into pint jars. Cook all of above ingredients until boiling. Pour over beets to fill jars.
Process in water bath canner for at least 30 min.

This is Jean Bennett's recipe for canning beets. Sweeter and a bit spicy compared to just vinegar packed beets. Really good.
