First:
2 whole cardamom pods (used a pinch of regular cardamom instead)
16 whole cloves
3 sticks of cinnamon - break up into smaller pieces
double thickness of 6" square of cheese cloth
clean string

Second:
2 bottles of red wine
2 c. water
1 c. light corn syrup

Third:
2 oranges - halved

Directions:
Directions:
Combine first set of ingredients onto the double thickness square of cheesecloth, tie shut with string - make sure no ingredients can escape.

Put second set of ingredients into a slow cooker, stir and add bag of spices. Cover and cook on low for 2 1/2 hours. DO NO BOIL.

Add orange halves for another half hour. Remove spice bag and orange halves.

Keep warm while serving. Ladle out and serve with fresh orange slices and a new cinnamon stick.
