1/2 cup of sugar
1 egg
1 cup of water
1/4 cup Lukewarm water
1 tsp salt
1 package of yeast
3 Tbsp shortening

Directions:
Directions:
Combine sugar, water, shortening and salt in a pan. Bring to boil and let cool.

In a separate bowl, break egg. Combine yeast with 1/4 cup of lukewarm water. Add to egg. Pour in liquid (should be slightly warm, not hot). Gradually add flour to make a batter. Cover and let sit in warm place. About 1 hour. Beat down by hand.

Add flour and knead to make a soft dough. Use flour as needed to roll and cut dough
Melt 1-2 Tbsp of butter or margarine in baking pan. Dip cut dough circles in butter, fold in half. Set and arrange in pan. Either refrigerate to next day or allow to rise by sitting out. After dough rises, immediately bake at 350 degrees until brown, 15-20 minutes.
