Meat & Vegetable Mix:
2 lbs ground beef
1 large onion - finely chopped
1 bunch green onions - finely chopped
3 celery stocks - finely chopped
6 eggs

Seasonings:
3/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp cloves
1/2 tsp msg
2 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp pepper
1 tsp sugar

Separate Dough:
3 1/2 to 4 cups water
1/2 cup margarine
2 cups flour
1/4 cup soy sauce
1 envelope unflavored Knox gelatin dissolved in a TBSP water

Breading:
6 eggs
2 lb coffee can full of breadcrumbs

Directions:
Directions:
1. Saute meat - remove excess fat - stir in chopped onions/green onions and celery; also spices. Mix thoroughly till done then add eggs and set aside.
2. Boil water and margarine over high heat until margarine is dissolved. Stir and add flour. Keep stirring until you have a smooth dough. Add soy sauce and gelatin then remove from heat.
3. Combine meat mix with dough. Mix thoroughly then let cool (overnight in closed container is super for an easier to handle dough).
4. Beat 6 eggs and divide over two fairly deep bowls (large size soup bowl or plastic whip containers). Fill 2 more bowls with bread crumbs. Roll approximately half dollar size meatballs. Dip them first in the egg, then in bread crumbs till covered. Repeat. Bitterballen are now ready to be deep fried.
5. Deep fry until golden brown
