1 c butter
2 c light brown sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
2 1/2 c sifted flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
3 c quick rolled oats
Fudge Nut Filling
1- 12 oz pkg. chocolate chips
1 can Eagle Brand sweetened condensed milk
2 Tbsp. butter
1/4 tsp salt
1 c chopped nuts
2 tsp vanilla

In mixing bowl cream together the butter and sugar. Mix in eggs and vanilla. Sift together the flour, baking soda and salt; add the oats. Slowly add dry ingredients to creamed mixture, mix well. Set aside while you make the filling. In a double boiler or a medium bowl over a small saucepan of simmering water; add the chocolate chips, condensed milk, butter and salt. Stir until mixture is smooth. Stir in nuts and vanilla. Spread about 3 1/2 cups of oatmeal mixture in a greased 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1 baking pan. Cover with chocolate mixture. Dot with remaining oatmeal mixture. Bake at 350º for 25 to 30 minutes or until lightly browned.
