4 lb. beef brisket
1 large onion, grated
1 c. bottled Italian salad dressing
salt and pepper
garlic powder
1/2 c. dry wine

Directions:
Directions:
Marinate roast in salad dressing for several hours. Turn every hour. Drain and reserve marinade for future use. Season meat and place in roaster which can be covered. Spread onion over top and bake uncovered at 325º for 1 1/2 hours. Pour wine over meat. Bake uncovered for 1 hour (if liquid cooks out, add small amount of boiling water). Turn off oven; cover and keep in oven. Test for fork tenderness when ready to reheat and finish baking.
