2 large peaches, peeled and sliced
1 1/2 cups sugar, divided
1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 tsps baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
Dash ground nutmeg
3/4 cup milk

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees

In a bowl, combine peaches and 3/4 cup sugar; set aside

Pour butter into 8x8 square pan

In a bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, nutmeg and remaining sugar; stir in milk just until moistened

Pour over butter

Top with the peaches

Bake at 375 degrees for 45-50 minutes

Yield: 8 servings
