1 c miniature marshmallows
2 c strawberries, sliced
1 package (3 oz) strawberry flavored gelatin
2 1/4 c flour
1 1/2 c sugar
1/2 c shortening
3 t baking powder
1/2 t salt
1 c milk
1 t vanilla
3 eggs

Directions:
Oven 350º 13 x 9 inch cake. Generously grease bottom only of baking pan. Sprinkle marshmallows evenly over bottom of pan. Combine next two ingredients. In a large bowl combine remaining ingredients. Blend at low speed until moistened; beat 3 minutes at medium speed, scraping sides of bowl occasionally. Pour batter over marshmallows in pan. Spoon strawberry mixture evenly over batter. Bake at 350º for 45-50 minutes until golden brown and toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
