1 1/4 c. molasses
3/4 c. sugar
1 T. vinegar
1 T. butter
1/8 t. baking soda
1/8 t. salt

Directions:
Directions:
Combine molasses, sugar and vinegar. Cook to 270* (soft crack stage), stirring occasionally to prevent burning. Remove from heat. Add butter, soda and salt; stir just enough to blend. Pour into buttered pans. When cool enough to handle, gather in a ball and pull between greased fingers until firm and light in color. Cut in pieces and wrap in wax paper.

For a change:
Add a few drops of peppermint extract
