1 cup shortening
1 Tablespoon margarine or butter
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 -1/4 cups flour

2 cups chocolate chips
1 cup broken pecans

Directions:
Directions:
In mixer bowl, cream, shortening, and margarine, with sugars, then add eggs, salt, vanilla, and soda. Add flour a little at a time until well blended. Stir in chocolate chips and pecans. Drop by teaspoon about 2" apart on cookie sheet. Bake at 350 8-10 minutes or until lightly brown. Cool on rack or wax paper. Do not stack until totally cooled.
