Crock-pot Garlic Cheesy Bread

Have you ever made garlic cheesy bread in your crock-pot? Well, get ready to live! This delicious carby goodness cannot be resisted by anyone and is completely foolproof!

Yield: 6-8 servings

Prep Time: 20 minutes

Cook Time: 1 hour 30 minutes

Total Time: 1 hour 50 minutes

Ingredients:

1 cup warm water
1 tablespoon sugar
1 envelope active dry yeast {2 1/4 teaspoons}
2 1/2 - 3 cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons olive oil
1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese
1/2 cup grated mozzarella cheese
garlic salt, to taste {2-3 teaspoons I'd guess}
2 tablespoons melted butter

Directions:

In small bowl, stir water, sugar and yeast together to combine. Set aside to proof.

In the bowl of a stand mixer, measure out 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour and salt. Stir to combine. Pour yeast mixture into blended flour slowly with the mixer on low. Drizzle in olive oil. Knead 5 minutes. A slightly tacky dough should come together. Add more flour or water as necessary to get it to the right consistency. If you touch the dough and it feels tacky but nothing sticks to your fingers, then it's done. Rest dough 10 minutes.

Spray 9x13 crockpot {or at least a 6 qt. oval crockpot} with nonstick cooking spray. Spread dough evenly across bottom of crockpot. Cover and cook on high for 1 1/2 hours or until edges are golden and top of dough is not shiny anymore. When you press the top gently, you'll feel that it's cooked thoroughly.

Remove loaf of bread from crockpot and place onto baking sheet. Turn broiler on. Sprinkle top of bread with cheeses and garlic salt. Drizzle with butter. Broil until cheese has melted completely. Cool 5 minutes before cutting and serving.
