1 c. brown sugar
1 c. sugar
1 c. corn syrup
1 can condensed milk
1/2 c. butter
2/3 c. thin cream
2 t. vanilla
1 c. nuts, chopped (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Combine brown sugar, sugar, corn syrup, condensed milk, butter and cream in a heavy saucepan (as caramels scorch easily). Cook over low flame, stirring constantly to 246* or firm ball stage. Remove from heat; stir in vanilla and nuts if desired. Pour into greased 9" square pan. Cool, cut and wrap in wax paper.
