2 Tbsp. shortening
1/2 c. onion, chopped
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1 lb. ground beef
1/2 c. rice
2 tsp. chili powder
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
1/8 tsp. black pepper
1 (10 1/2 oz.) can condensed tomato soup
1 c. water
1 (No. 303) can red kidney beans

Directions:
Directions:
Melt shortening in a large skillet. Add onion, garlic powder, ground beef and rice; brown slightly. Add chili powder, salt, cayenne pepper, black pepper, tomato soup, water and kidney beans. Stir until ingredients are blended. Switch to high flame until mixture steams and then to low. Simmer for 20 minutes. Serve with chow mein noodles.
