1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. flour
3 eggs beaten
3 c. oatmeal
1 c. nut (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and butter, add sugars, eggs and vanilla. Stir in flour, soda and salt. Stir in oats and nuts (optional). Form into ball and bake at 375º 10 to 15 minutes.
