2 c. flour
2 T. sugar
4 t. baking powder
6 T. shortening
2/3 c. milk
2 T. butter
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 t. cinnamon
2 1/2 c. apples, diced
1/2 c. nuts, chopped (optional)

Frosting:
2 T. hot water
1 1/2 c. conf. sugar
1 t. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour, sugar and baking powder together. Cut in shortening. Add milk to make a soft dough. Turn onto floured board and knead gently. Roll in rectangle 1/4 " thick. Spread with butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, apples and nuts if desired. Roll up jelly roll fashion. Curve into semi-circle. Bake at 400* for 30 minutes. Cover with frosting.

Frosting:
Combine all ingredients together and mix until smooth.
