5 tablespoons butter

8-1 inch slices of French Bread
3 large eggs
1 cup milk

Directions:
Prepare this dish the day before serving as it has to refrigerate overnight.
In a large heavy skillet melt butter, add apple slices and cook, stirring occasionally, until tender. Add brown sugar, corn syrup and cinnamon to apples. Cook, stirring constantly until sugar dissolves. Pour apple mixture into a 13 x 9 inch baking dish and spread evenly. Arrange bread slices on top.
In a medium bowl beat eggs, milk and vanilla until well mixed, pour over bread slices. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.
Next day, heat oven to 375°. Remove wrap and bake 30 –35 minutes or until a knife inserted in center comes out clean. If using a glass dish you may want to start it in the cold oven. Just watch your cooking time more closely.
