Ingredients:  
1 3/4 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1 t. cream of tarter
1/2 t. soda
1 egg
3 T. shortening
milk
1 t. vanilla
Directions:
Directions:
Combine flour, sugar, cream of tarter and soda. Break the egg into a 1 c. measuring cup, add the shortening and enough milk to fill cup; add to dry ingredients. Add vanilla and beat well. Pour into greased layer pans. Bake at 350*.
