1/2 c. butter
2 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 c. flour
1 t. baking powder
3/4 t. baking soda
1/4 t. salt
1/2 t. nutmeg
1/2 t. cinnamon
3 c. chopped apples (peeled)
1 1/2 c. nuts, chopped

Hot Buttered Rum Sauce:
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. light cream (or half and half)
1 t. rum extract

Directions:
Directions:
In a mixing bowl cream butter; gradually add sugar and beat until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Sift together flour, baking powder, soda, salt, nutmeg and cinnamon; gradually add to egg mixture. Stir in apples and nuts. Turn into greased 13x9x2 pan. Bake at 325* for 45 - 50 minutes. Serve with hot buttered rum sauce.

Hot Buttered Rum Sauce:
In a saucepan combine sugar, butter and cream; heat over low heat stirring occasionally until hot. Stir in extract.
