1 c. water
2 c. raisins
1 c. shortening
2 c. white sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. allspice

Boil water and raisins for 5 minutes. Cool. Cream shortening, sugar, eggs and vanilla. Add cooled raisins. Add remaining ingredients. Drop by teaspoon onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 ºF. for 15 minutes.
