1 cup sugar
2 tbsp. soft shortening
1 egg
3 cups flour
3 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
3/4 cup milk
1 cup mashed bananas
3/4 cup chopped walnuts

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 350º. Grease a loaf pan. Mix sugar, shortening and egg. Add milk and mashed bananas. In another bowl mix flour, baking powder and salt; add to banana mixture. Blend well, fold in nuts. Bake for 60-70 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the middle of loaf comes out clean.
