2 1/2 cups flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
3/4 tsp. salt
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
2 tbsp. milk

Directions:
Directions:
Sift together flour, soda and salt, set aside. Cream together butter, sugar and vanilla; add egg and mix until mixture if fluffy. Stir in dry mixture until smooth. Blend in milk. Drop by teaspoonful onto greased cookie sheet. Flatten with bottom of a glass dipped in sugar (butter bottom of glass to help sugar stick). Bake 350º for 10-12 minutes.
