3/4 to 1 cup sugar
6-7 cups peeled sliced cored apples
1 tsp. cinnamon or nutmeg
1 1/2 tbsp. butter
Double crust pie crust

Directions:
Directions:
Mix apples, cinnamon and sugar together in a bowl. Line pie tin with pastry. Fill with apple mixture. Dot with butter, cover with top crust. Seal crust, pierce top with apple cookie cutter and sprinkle with sugar. Cover edge of crust with 1 1/2" strip of aluminum foil to prevent excessive browning. Bake at 425º for 50-60 minutes, or until crust is nicely browned and apples are cooked through (test with fork). Serve warm or cold... may be topped with whipped cream or ice cream.
