3 c. flour
2 t. baking powder
1/2 t. salt
1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
3 eggs
1 1/2 t. vanilla
1 c. milk
3/4 c. chocolate syrup
1/4 t. soda
1/4 t. peppermint extract

Directions:
Directions:
Grease bottom of tube pan. Sift flour with baking powder and salt. Cream butter in large bowl. Gradually add sugar; cream at high speed. At medium speed add eggs. At low speed, add dry ingredients alternately with milk and vanilla. Pour 2/3 of batter into pan. In the remaining batter blend chocolate syrup, soda and extract. Pour chocolate batter over vanilla batter. Do not mix. Bake at 350* for 65 - 70 minutes, or until cake springs back when lightly touched in center. Do not invert. Cool completely in pan.
