1/2 tsp. Baking Soda
1/2 c. packed brown sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. granulated sugar
2 eggs
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
2 c. sifted cake flour
1/2 tsp. allspice
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. cloves
1 c. beer

Cream Shorting add sugars gradually blending thoroughly add eggs beat
thoroughly mix and sift dry ingredients add to creamed mixture alternately with beer beginning and ending with dry ingredients turn into a 8x8x2 baking pan bake at 350 40-45 minutes
