1 cup shortening
1/2 cup butter - room temperature
2 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 cup milk
1 Tsp vanilla
2 cup flour
3/4 cup cocoa
dash of salt
1/2 cup powdered sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Mix flour, cocoa and salt in bowl, set aside
In large mixing bowl, cream shortening and butter
Add sugar, eggs, milk and vanilla
Add flour mixture and beat until fluffy
Pour into large greased cookie sheet
Bake exactly 25 minutes at 350º
Cool for about 10 minutes, sprinkle powered sugar over the top
(May substitute 1 cup coconut oil for the shortening)

This is Grandma Elaine's recipe and the brownies we grew up with.
