2 sticks butter
2 sticks margarine
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla flavoring
5 cups flour
pecans

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and margarine. Add sugar and cream well. Add beaten egg and vanilla. Blend in flour. This will make a stiff dough. Roll into small balls and press a pecan half in top. Bake at 375° for 10 minutes or until golden.

This recipe came from Mae Stanton, a past President of Mississippi Homemaker Volunteers, from Vicksburg. This is one of those old recipes that was handed down and not really written or measured. You may have to adjust the amount of flour.
