1 c. flour
1/2 t. baking powder
1/4 t. salt
1/3 c. margarine, soft
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 t. vanilla
1 t. grated orange rind
1 package dates, cut up
1/2 c. walnuts, chopped
sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Combine margarine and sugar in bowl until fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla, beat until blended. Beat in flour mixture at low speed. Add peel, dates and nuts. Bake in greased 9" square pan. Bake at 375* for 25 - 30 minutes. Sprinkle top with sugar after removing from oven. Cool
