Ingredients:  
1 c. butter
1 c. powdered sugar
1 c. shortening
2 t. water
2 t. vanilla
2 c. cake flour
2 c. all purpose flour
2 c. nuts, chopped
pinch of salt

Frosting:
2/3 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. butter
cream (1/2 & 1/2)
conf. sugar
1 t. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter, sugar and shortening together. Add water and vanilla. Add dry ingredients. Stir in nuts. Roll in balls and flatten. Bake at 350* just until light tan around edges. Frost

Frosting:
In saucepan, mix together brown sugar and butter. Add enough cream to make a thick syrup. Cook to rolling boil and turn off burner and let set on burner for a minute or two. Cool slightly, then stir in conf. sugar and vanilla. Frost cookies
