2 c. sugar
1 c. shortening
1 egg
1 Tbsp. orange or lemon peel (grated)
1 c. sour cream
3 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. soda
1 tsp. baking powder

Directions:
Directions:
Cream sugar and shortening, mix in egg, mix in peel and sour cream, add rest of ingredients and mix. Drop onto lightly sprayed cookie sheets. Flatten slightly with the bottom of a glass dipped in sugar. Press in pecan or raisins if desired. Bake 375º for 12-15 minutes. Don't over bake or they will be hard.
