1 cup butter (softened)
1½ cups sugar
2 eggs
2¾ cups flour
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
½ tsp. salt
2 tbsp sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º
In a medium bowl, mix together flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt together.
In a large bowl, cream together 1 1/2 cups sugar and butter. Add eggs and blend well.
Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients 1/3 at a time, and mix well.
In a small bowl mix together the 2 tbsp sugar and cinnamon.
Shape dough into 1 inch balls and roll in the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake for 8-10 minutes at 350º (Makes about 4 dozen cookies)

When ready to make the individual cookies, I like to divide the batch in half, then for each have I divide in half again, then I do it again. From each of these 8 smaller balls, I divide into 3 equal cookie sized balls. This is a great way to be sure all the cookies are equal in size.
