Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 pound extra lean hamburger (can substitute regular or lean)
3 hot Italian sausages (optional)
1 teaspoon parsley
1 teaspoon basil
1.5 teaspoons salt
1 cup sliced fresh mushrooms (optional)
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 Tablespoon minced onion
28 ounce can pasta sauce (any type - can also use tomato sauce)
10 ounces lasagne noodles
3 cups Ricotta cheese
2 beaten eggs
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon white sugar
1/2 teaspoon oregano
2 teaspoons parsley (I use 1 Tablespoon)
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
907 grams mozzarella cheese, sliced (could use approximately half this amount if you slice the cheese very thinly)

Directions:
Directions:
Brown hamburger & sausage meat (squeezed out of sausage casing) & drain off fat. Add next 7 ingredients & simmer 30 minutes (I simmer longer to make a thicker meat sauce).

Cook lasagne noodles, drain and rinse in cold water.

Combine ricotta cheese, eggs, seasonings and parmesan cheese and stir together until well mixed.

Spread approximately 1 cup of meat sauce in bottom of 9" x 13" lasagne (rectangular) pan. Place half of the noodles on top of meat sauce. Then 1/2 cottage cheese mix, 1/2 mozzarella cheese & 1/2 meat sauce. Spread remaining noodles on top of meat sauce. Then cottage cheese mix & remaining meat sauce. Top with remaining mozzarella cheese slices. Cover with tin foil.
Bake at 375 degrees for 40 minutes, remove tin foil & bake for another 15 - 20 minutes. Let stand for 10 - 15 minutes before serving.
