2 c packed brown sugar
2/3 c milk
1/4 c butter (no substitutes)
1/4 tsp salt
1 c confectioners sugar
2 Tbsp whipping cream
2 tsp vanilla
15 pecan halves

Directions:
Directions:
In a heavy saucepan combine the brown sugar, milk, butter and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Cook and stir until a candy thermometer reads 234 ° (soft ball stage). Remove from the heat, cool to lukewarm. Transfer to a mixing bowl, beat in confectioners sugar, cream and vanilla until mixture achieves spreading consistency. Frost cake.

To keep frosting from turning sugary while cooking; attach a damp paper towel to a knife and wipe sides of saucepan to get rid of sugar crystal.
