"As viscous as motor oil swirled in a swamp, redolent of burnt bell peppers nested in by incontinent mice and a finish reminiscent of the dregs of a stale can of Coca-Cola that someone has been using as an ashtray. Not a bad drink, though."--Excerpt from "The Moose Turd Wine Tasting" by T. A. Nonymous

4 oz bourbon/whisky (or moonshine)
2 oz glycerin
2 oz rock candy
Juice of one lemon

Directions:
Combine all ingredients in a jar and shake well. Store in pantry or refrigerator. Prior to use, shake well and take a teaspoon or two to help ease a cough every two to three hours or as needed. Do not give children 12 months and under anything containing honey as the bacteria in honey can cause botulism in infants.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
This is an old Deaton family recipe. Grandma Deaton used to drop a couple of camphor cubes in her bottle (in addition to the other ingredients) and took a small swig every day to keep colds and various ailments at bay. If you just use this as cough syrup, once you take enough of it, after awhile you'll forget you were sick to begin with!!
