2 (1 7/8 oz) cans (3/4 cup) sesame seeds
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla

Butter baking sheet, set aside. Preheat oven to 350º. Spread sesame seeds in a large baking pan. Toast seeds in oven for 15 to 20 minutes or till lightly browned, stirring occasionally, when cooled enough to handle poor into a large measuring cup. In heavy saucepan, cook and stir sugar over low heat until melted and golden brown. Remove from heat and quickly stir in sesame seeds and vanilla. When sesame seeds are fully coated, poor into buttered baking sheet and spread thinly. Allow to cool. Break up the brittle into pieces.
