1 c. golden raisins
1 c. water

1 c. sugar
4 eggs - beaten
1/2 gal. homogenized milk
34 square soda crackers, broken

Directions:
Directions:
Simmer raisins in 1 cup water till water is boiled away. Set aside.

Mix remaining ingredients together in large saucepan. Cook slowly until mixture boils up once only, stirring constantly. Add cooked raisins. Serve warm or cold with whipped cream. Top with a sprinkle of nutmeg, if desired.

Phil's family served this pudding every year for Thanksgiving and Christmas. We continue to make it now, even though the younger generation doesn't think it's that great!
