1 C. Shortening
1/2 C. Butter
3 C. Flour
1/2 C. Milk
2 Eggs
1/2 tsp. Salt
7 or 8 Apples (peeled then dice in large hunks)
1 1/2 C. Sugar
3 tbsp. Flour
1 1/2 tsp. Cinnamon
1 tbsp. Butter

Directions:
Directions:
Cut shorting and butter into flour and salt. Combine milk and egg yolks. Stir together until mixture is moistened. Roll out and pat 1/2 of crust in jelly roll pan. Filling: Arrange apples on crust. Combine sugar, flour & cinnamon. Sprinkle over apples. Dot with butter. Roll out remaining crust and over apples. Brush top with slightly beaten egg white. Bake 375 degrees for 45 min.

Hint: I pat the bottom crust in pan instead of rolling it out. I divide remaining crust in half and do the top crust. Even if it falls apart it tastes great.
Great to take to a party or serve a family.
