1/2 c. butter
2/3 c. sugar
1 egg
1/4 c. lemon juice
1 T. lemon peel
1 3/4 c. flour
1/4 t. baking soda
1/4 t. cream of tartar
1/4 t. salt
1/2 c. chopped almonds
conf. sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter, sugar and egg. Add lemon juice and peel. Combine flour, baking soda, cream of tartar and salt; stir into creamed mixture. Add almonds. Cover and refrigerate for an hour or overnight. Roll into 1" balls. Place on ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 350* for 10 - 12 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove immediately to wire racks. Cool 5 minutes and roll in conf. sugar.
