1 egg
1 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. molasses
pinch of salt
1 t. vanilla
1 t. cinnamon
2 t. soda dissolved in:
4 T. boiling water
flour to roll (about 4 c.)
apple jelly ( or any flavor jelly)

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugar, add egg and molasses. Mix in dry ingredients. Add enough flour to roll out. Cut into rounds and place on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350*. When cool, spread jelly between two cookies and sandwhich together.
