1 c sifted cake flour
1 1/2 c sugar (divided)
12 egg whites
1 1/2 t cream of tartar
1/4 t salt
2 t vanilla
1/2 t almond extract
6 egg yolks

Directions:
Directions:
Sift together flour and 3/4 cup sugar. Beat egg whites, cream of tartar and salt in large bowl until foamy, using an electric mixer at high speed. Gradually add 3/4 cup sugar, beating until stiff peaks form. Blend in vanilla, almond extract and flour mixture at low speed. Pour half of batter into another bowl. Beat egg yolks in small bowl until thick and lemon colored, using an electric mixer at high speed. Fold egg yolk mixture into half of batter. Put white batter into ungreased 10 tube pan. Spoon yellow mixture of top of white batter. Bake at 375 degrees on lowest shelf of oven 35 to 40 minutes or until top is dry and springs back when lightly touched. Invert on a funnel or bottle to cool. Frost cake with Fluffy Boiled Icing.
