1/4 c oil
2 c raw brown rice
2 T butter
5-6 c water
3/4 c dry mixed small beans (mung, split peas. red, lentils), presoaked for regular cooking
2 t salt

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oil in saucepan. Add rice and saute for 5-7 minutes, until crackles and lightly brown. Stir in butter until it melts. Add water and mixed beans. Cook until rice and beans are tender, adding more water if necessary. Stir in salt and serve.
