2 cups yellow corn meal
1 teaspoon salt
2 Tablespoons cooking oil
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup water

Directions:
Directions:
Mix corn meal, salt, baking powder and water being sure that the mixture is not too dry. Add more water if necessary. Add cooking oil to a cast iron skillet or heavy pan, then add the cornmeal mixture to the skillet. Stir well and then lower the heat to simmer. Cover and cook about 20 minutes, stirring frequently.

Serve with milk or sryup
