3 T margarine
2 T flour
1 1/2 t salt
1/8 t pepper
3 c milk
Cheese, shredded- optional
6 medium potatoes, pared and thinly sliced ( about 6 cups)
2 T onions, chopped
ham, cut into cubes- optional

Directions:
Directions:
Make a white sauce of the first 5 ingredients. Melt cheese in with sauce. Place half the potatoes in a greased casserole pan. Cover with half onions and half sauce. Repeat layers. Cover and bake at 350º for 1 hour. Uncover and bake 30 minutes more. Serves 4-6.

We always have ham and scalloped potatoes. Good way to use left over ham.
